1940s – 1970s

The ART MODE JEWELRY CREATIONS. INC jewelry company, or just ART, was founded by Arthur Pepper in the late 1940s in New York. The company produced jewelry in various styles and techniques, its main lines of work being the Art Deco and Victorian style jewelry. Crystals, faux pearls and enamel of the highest quality were used in the company’s products.

The ART jewelry became recognizable by the antique gold tinted metal and bold colour combinations. ART is admitted to resemble Florenza and Hollycraft in style. The famous Christmas collection was and still is particularly sought after.

The ART company ceased making jewelry in the 70s; the exact date of their leaving the business is unknown.

The increasingly rare ART jewelry pieces are considerably underestimated by collectors and vintage jewelry connoisseurs: their price is relatively low today. Nonetheless, it is bound to grow in future.

The jewelry used to be marked ART, or more rarely, Mode Art.
