Albert Weiss founded his company Albert Weiss & Company Inc.NYC in 1942 in New York City. Prior to that, he worked for 12 years at CORO, a major American jewelry company. Weiss Inc. grew and developed actively in the 50-60s. Prices for WEISS jewelry were rocketing. The company produced costume jewelry in classical style using magnificent Austrian rock crystal. The products were similar in style to the jewelry of Eisenberg and Bogoff. Other equally famous motifs of WEISS designs are floral compositions and figures. His butterflies and dragonflies are particularly popular. Decorations with so-called black diamonds –dark grey crystals of smoky quartz – are very remarkable. Undoubtedly, we can say that Weiss produced some of the most beautiful jewelry and, perhaps, the best jewelry with the use of crystals, in the post-war period. After Albert retired, his son Michael took over the company. In 1971, the company ceased to exist
